The Bleep Press-up Test - Launched 20.05.10

A press-up or push up is a common strength training exercise performed in a prone position, lying horizontal and face down, raising and lowering the body using the arms.

Press-ups develop the pectoral muscles and triceps, with ancillary benefits to the deltoids, serratus anterior, coracobrachialis and the midsection as a whole.

Press-ups are a basic exercise used in civilian athletic training or physical education and commonly in military physical training.

The Bleep Press-up Test measures upper body strength and endurance. In this test, the maximum number of press-ups performed at a rate of one every three seconds is recorded.
